💡 How to follow: If you understood how the body is designed, you'd stop overdoing heavy lifting and start stimulating the interior oblique sling. Heavy lifting is fine — but you only need 2-3 quality sets. Train the kinetic chain (foot → hip → torso → shoulder) as a connected sequence, and you build a body that looks good AND performs, without the joint aches and stiff lower back.

Why the Oblique Sling

Understand
Why the Oblique Sling

The interior (anterior) oblique sling is the body's kinetic-chain link across the torso. It's the system you should train — overdoing heavy lifting misses the point. Heavy work is fine, you just don't need more than 2-3 sets.

  1. Train the oblique sling, not just raw volume
  2. Heavy lifting: cap at 2-3 quality sets
  3. Think movement chain, not isolated muscles

Kneeling Cable Oblique Pull

Per side, 2-3 sets
Kneeling Cable Oblique Pull

Kneeling with one leg extended back, the other bent, pull the cable from the high anchor down and across toward the opposite hip. The obliques and the whole chain sequence through the torso.

  1. Kneel in a half-kneeling stance, cable set high
  2. Pull the handle down and across toward the hip
  3. Rotate and connect through the obliques
  4. Move with the chain — hip to shoulder

Incline Press — Quality Sets

2-3 sets
Incline Press — Quality Sets

On a 45° incline bench, press the dumbbells from the chest up. Chain-sequenced: connect the feet/hips through the torso as the arms press. You don't need more than 2-3 quality sets.

  1. Set the bench to ~45°
  2. Press the dumbbells up from the chest
  3. Connect through the chain — feet to shoulders
  4. Stop at 2-3 quality sets
